The Andover Carnival with floats returned to the town on Sunday, with the theme being 'The Magic of the Musicals'. On top of half a dozen walking entries, there were about 20 floats, representing some of the great musicals of our time.
Thousands lined the streets of Andover to applaud the procession as it went past, as to throw money in the buckets raising money for local charities.
"The charities that benefited this year were Help for Heroes, Andover Mencap, Andover CAB and Kyle's Voice".
The procession of floats was led by the Mayor and Mayoress of Test Valley in an open-topped car, followed by Andover Sound, who publicised the event and organised some of the music.
In Vigo Park was a range of entertainment, with some top bands playing, along with the Long Overdue Theatre School, based at Harrow Way School.
It was kind of Switch International and Transplus to provide the lorries, and their volunteer drivers to give up their time for the ocassion. This was another terrific event where Andover and the villages around could congregate in the town, have a good time and raise some useful money for charities.
