Copper Beeches re-opened after refurbishment
6 Aug 2010
Cllr Mrs Felicity Hindson MBE, Executive Member for Adult Services at Hampshire County Council, officially re-opened Copper Beeches, following extensive work that had been carried out to the Home. Over £1.5 million was spent on a new entrance area, installing double glazing, a new call system with a new lounge, dining and kitchenette area on the first floor. In addition, a new hairdressing and medical room has been provided, together with new fire precautions including the installation of a sprinkler system.

"Copper Beeches is a residential home for mentally frail older people, and the staff have done very well to cope with running the home while the refurbishment took place."

Sir George cut the ribbon, assisted by Austin Loxton, and then Felicity Hindson thanked the contractors and the staff at Hampshire County Council who had overseen the work. She cut the cake with help from Marjorie Ridgewell.
