Janet Coxwell and her husband Andy Smets organised another fundraising concert at Highclere Church, in order to help raise funds.
Andy Smets led a team of four trumpets, entitled 'Bold as Brass', who played music by Charpentier Byrd and Handel. This was followed by music by Mendelssohn, Bruckner and Rossini, ending with some modern music by Walton and Gershwin.
This was complemented by songs by Janet Coxwell, the well known soprano, and three of her pupils, Lucy Makin, Duncan Sheldon and Lucy Hudson.
They sang songs by Mozart, Richard Strauss and Rogers & Hammerstein.
"This was a very popular and well performed concert, and we are enormously fortunate to have such high quality musicians in this part of the constituency". Afterwards a reception was held at the home of Mr and Mrs Patrick Walsh.
