Woolton Hill celebrated one year of village market with the East Woodhay Silver Band playing for the occasion.

"This village market has been a great success - David Cameron's Big Society in action. Throughout the winter months they had round about 300 people coming to each market, held on the last saturday of each month, with the numbers increasing in the summer. There has been an increase in the number of stalls, with a local supplier of Indian meals joining in September. People wanting to support local producers and reduce the carbon footprint of their food have an opportunity to buy real bargains at the village market, and I congratulate Teresa Munn and Sandie Bishopp, together with all their volunteers, on laying the foundations for a successful market."
