Tim Deery, Head Teacher at Portway Junior School, invited Sir George to formally open a new computer suite - called the P-Pod (Portway Pod)This bank of computers compliments the IT suite already at the school, and enables more children to access computers as part of the curriculum.

David Ireland, the class teacher, explained to Sir George the project which the pupils were engaged on.

After looking in on one of the classes, Sir George answered questions from Year 6 for 30 minutes, and ended up by encouraging them to become MPs. "We need enthusiastic young people in the House of Commons to make sure that the interests of youth are properly represented."
