Rod Eggington, a long standing resident in Penton, has written a book about the lives of people in Penton during World War 1 - including soldiers who fought and died. His book covers the hospital, the airfield and the school. All proceeds are being donated to the Friends of Holy Trinity, Penton Mewsey.

"The launch of Rod's book was a great event in the village, as Rod assembled memorabilia from the First World War. The village is enormously fortunate to have such a diligent local historian, and it is generous of him to donate the proceeds towards Holy Trinity".

Rod signed Sir George's book, which was the 100th to be sold by 3 o'clock in the afternoon on the first day after the book was published.
