The newly elected Mayor of Test Valley, Cllr Zillia Brooks and her consort attended the first anniversary of the launch of the Silver Surfers Cafe in Andover. The Mayor cut a cake, after Vince Delderfield, the Strategy and Internet Cafe manager outlined the success of the first year.

"I was delighted to hear from Vince that nearly 600 people have got to grips with the internet through the cafe, and that there were over 8,000 individual sessions between the experienced volunteers and those coming along to learn. Access to the internet has transformed the lives of many people, and I am grateful to the Silver Surfers Cafe for what they have achieved." After the Mayor cut the cake, Sir George cut a ribbon to launch the Silver Surfers website. http://andoversilversurfers.zxq.net
