Sir George visited Andover College on its Open Day, and met with the Principal, Tim Jackson. Tim Jackson showed Sir George round part of the college, including the motor vehicle section.

"SEAT have kindly donated a vehicle which they couldn't sell in the UK, because it did not conform with Uk specifications. This has been a useful addition to the range of vehicles in the workshops, where students can learn mechanical engineering skills." Sir George also visited the Carpentry and Construction workshops, the Hairdressing and Health and Beauty salons. "It was good to meet the staff of the college and students on the open day, and to hear the good progress which the college is making. It is equipping local people with the skills we will need as the economy moves out of recession into recovery."
