Sir George cut the ribbon to open Harrow Way Community School's flexible learning centre "The school has some dedicated space in the Community Centre at the back to help students who face a number of challenges to get the extra support they need, to keep up with their colleagues at the school. They may be students who have difficulty in reading, or who may have behaviourable issues and have been temporarily excluded. The centre gives them the support that they need so they can be absorbed back in the mainstream of the school. I commend the initiative of the Head, Charlie Currie and of Ian Ashbolt, the Flexible Learning Centre Manager, for developing this initiative at a time of downward pressure on the school budget. I also commend the links the school has with the broader community, many of whose representatives were at the launch."
