St Mary's Church, Amport posted an exhibition of contemporary art, sculpture and photography for three days in order to help raise funds for the church.

"Three local artists, Diane Haddon-Moore, Judith Strawbridge and Barbara Huckale put on a display of their works in the church, generously donating 20% of all sale proceeds to St Mary's Amport." Sir George bought a painting by Diane Haddon-Moore and complemented all the artists on the imagination of their work. "The inspiration behind the works that were created for this event were in some way connected to the Church, its architecture and environment, artifacts found within the church - and the vast myriad of connections that the church has within the community. The event was well supported, and will help the church modernise the building to make it more accessible for a wider range of events." The Rector, Chris Pettit addressed the private viewing and thanked all those who were taking part, both those displaying their work and those buying it.
