Ben Walton, who runs a dry cleaning business in Union Street in Andover, went for the World Ironing Record at Asda last week. He was attempting to beat his own record of 60 hours, by continuously ironing garments for 75 hours, and raising money for the Princess Royal Trust for Carers in Hampshire. Kerry Wincott, the Chief Executive of the Hampshire Branch and Sir George went along to give him encouragement when he was over half way through on Friday morning.

The 75 hour ironing marathan coincides with Morphy Richards' 75th anniversary, and they have asked Ben to get involved.

"Ben had one more night to go, and told me that between 4am and 8am was the toughest time, when the shop was quiet and his body clock was telling him it was bedtime. I was very impressed by the support he was getting from shoppers, and congratulate him on breaking his own record".
