The newly elected Mayor of Test Valley Borough Council, Cllr Zilliah Brooks, held her Civic Service at Holy Trinity Church, Penton Mewsey.

The Rev John Harkin took the service, and the preacher was Rev Jill Bentall, whose benefice includes Holy Trinity. Joining the Mayor were her family, and mayors from other boroughs in Hampshire.

"Holy Trinity is a stone's throw from my home in Penton Mewsey, so Aurelia and I were delighted to join Zilliah at our local church, and to listen to Jill Bentall preach a sermon about public service".

After the church service, tea was served in Penton Village Hall.
