Sir George takes up road safety issue in Kingsclere
13 Sep 2011
Following the fatal accident in Winchester Road, Kingsclere, one of those living on the road who responded to the accident came to see Sir George at his Advice Bureau in Andover. “This was a terrible accident, and those who live in Winchester Road are concerned at the speed with which traffic comes down the hill and also – as in this fatality – leaves the village at great speed.

I am therefore in touch with Hampshire County Council and with the Police to see whether we can improve road safety on this stretch of road. Two suggestions put to me by my constituent were rumble strips, and speed cameras, and I hope both suggestions would be looked at seriously”.
