Sir George launched the 5th Inclusive Football Festival held by Streets Ahead at the New Street football ground in Andover.

Taking part this year were six clubs, including fifteen teams.

Launching the festival, Sir George said that Streets Ahead and the other organisations represented brought the friendship, excitement and skills of the game of football to players who otherwise couldn’t take part in mainstream clubs.

“Those taking part have special needs, and I pay tribute to what Streets Ahead have been doing to enable their members to play competitive football.”

Opening the event, Sir George congratulated the club chairman, Martin Tobin, together with Linda Richmond and Sue Simmonds, for their work in starting Streets Ahead and enabling it to grow from strength to strength.

Sir George presented Jack Weatheritt with a shirt, who was granted his level 1 FA coaching certificate earlier in the year. “I wish Jack all the best in his new career as a coach”
