Four Andover schools went to Tesco in River Way on Friday, as part of the Tesco for Schools & Clubs Equipment initiative.

During the year, parents, staff and supporters of the school collect vouchers which are in turn exchanged for equipment by the school.

Jim Huskins (on left of picture) handed over the boxes for Sir George to present to Knights Enham County Infants School, Roman Way County Primary School, Smannell & Enham Church of England Primary School and Knights Enham County Junior School.

"I think it is important that shops and firms in Andover can, if possible, support local schools and I welcome this initiative, and indeed the other initiatives in the town that support our schools in a similar way".

Last year, 112 schools and clubs in the North West Hants constituency collected a total of nearly 900,000 vouchers, with 91 of the organisations collecting equipment worth £22,000.
