Sir George cut the ribbon to formally open the new garden at the Avenue Day Nursery in Penton Mewsey.

Sir George explained that he had only had to walk a hundred yards to perform the ceremony, as the day nursery was in the village where he lived.

"I would like to congratulate the parents who helped to turn this garden into the attractive space which it is, laying a pavement, digging a sandpit and planting the trees." The opening of the garden was combined with a Christmas Bazaar, with Santa Claus making an appearance.

Sir George and Lady Young went round the building, and complemented the owners, Amber Roots and Emma Palmer on providing high quality day care for local people and for putting a building that had been unused for 5 years to good use.
