Marmalade makers can raise funds for the Countess of Brecknock Hospice by taking their entries in a marmalade competition to Kenyons in Weyhill Road. "Aurelia has been making marmalade for over 30 years, and I am a huge fan of what she produces. A few years ago, a competition started in the Lake District to raise funds for local hospices, and this has now become a nationwide event. Every entry will raise £6 for the Countess of Brecknock, and last year local marmalade makers raised £250. We hope to do even better this year. Local organiser Katie Dixon will ensure that the pots reach the place where the competition is judged in Cumbria, and this takes place later in the month."
