Concern at Wash Common Development
8 Jun 1999
Constituents living around Wash Common have contacted Sir George about a planning application for a 24hr distribution warehouse complex at Common Farm, Wash Water.
Sir George has told them that he shares their surprise and concern at this application. "I am in touch both with DETR - to establish what was said about infill development at the time the Newbury bypass was being considered; and with Basingstoke and Deane Council to establish what use the land is designated for in the district plan."
Sir George is concerned that the line of the bypass should not be used to define a new limit for development outside Newbury.
