Kier Property, who have entered into a partnership with Test Valley Borough Council to relaunch Walworth Business Park, held an open day at the Walworth Enterprise Centre attended by local councillors, prospective clients, and also Sir George Young.

"Ever since Ducal closed, the Walworth Industrial Estate, now the Walworth Business Park, has been a rather sorry sight. I was delighted to hear of the partnership between Kier Property and Test Valley Borough Council, to promote the site, and also to invest in some of the premises to make them an attractive proposition for incoming businesses." Sir George told George Shepherd, the Development Manager of Kier Property, that he was anxious to do all he could to win fresh business for the town, and provide employment opportunities. "I was interested to hear that Andover may be marketing all the sites, Walworth, Portway and the Airfield, and I am sure that a coordinated exercise is the right way forward.

"I believe Andover is an ideal geographical location for many businesses, particularly those that need good communication links with other parts of the UK, and I hope we see some results from this new partnership, and some of the empty sites being snapped up."
