John and Sarah Mills, who run Parsonage Farm in Upton, hosted a spring market to help raise funds for the Living Paintings Trust. Every year, John and Sarah generously host a market in aid of a local charity. Last year it was the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance, and this year it is the Living Paintings Trust, based in Kingsclere. "The LPT helps bring art to life for those who are blind or partially sighted, through the use of three dimensional models and cassettes."
After a hamburger at the Parsonage Farm stand, George and Aurelia Young visited the cakestall, run by the Living Paintings Trust. "It was good to have a chat with Rachel Kent, fundraising manager, and catch up with the news of the Living Paintings Trust. This is a national charity with its headquarters in my constituency, and I am a keen supporter of the work which they do." At a well attended spring market, a wide variety of products were available. "There were some marvellous fishcakes all the way from Exeter, and some real ale from local breweries." Other stands gave lessons in woodwork, metalwork and the art of butchery.
