Sir George looked in on the Andover Cancer Research stall to buy some raffle tickets in aid of Cancer Research UK. "George Corden and eight of his friends are going to be cycling from London to Monte Carlo, from May 9 to May 18. They plan to start from Westminster and I hope to be there to see them start."

"All the boys are in their early twenties, and are currently on a placement year at IBM in London. They have chosen Cancer Research for their charity as most of them have friends or relations who have been affected by the disease. George's aunt is recovering from a rare cancer, and without the huge advances being made in Cancer Research, she is unlikely to have survived." Sir George wished the boys well "They have bought their bicycles with their own money, and will spend a lot of their own funds towards the event. They are aiming to raise £40,000 and, to compliment the funds they are raising, George's mother Eileen is selling raffle tickets to win Le Creuset products, amongst other good prizes."
