St Michael's and All Angels Church, Highclere celebrated the Queen's Diamond Jubilee by holding a Festival of Flowers.

"The theme of the festival was 'Jewels of the Crown', and the many displays in the church reflected on the many aspects of Her Majesty's reign. Heather Snipp, who has headed up the Flower Guild at the church for more than 20 years, was the driving force behind this initiative, and it was uplifting to go in to the church and see the fantastic display".

Guests at the opening included the Mayor of Basingstoke Cllr Martin Bierman and the Mayoress, the Bishop of Basingstoke the Rt Rev Peter Hancock, the Earl and Countess of Carnarvon, and the local MP.

The festival was open from June 2nd to June 5th, and it was made possible by many generous sponsors.
