Master of Ceremonies for the Diamond Jubilee Fete on the King George V Playing Fields at Hurstbourne Tarrant was Colin Ponting, who welcomed Sir George and other guests to the village celebration.

Sir George thanked Holli Pietsch and her team for arranging the event, and welcomed the Harry Rhythm Hot Strutters Band, who provided the music throughout the day. Residents of the village bought their own picnics and marquees, and enjoyed a day in the sunshine, celebrating the Jubilee. Many were dressed up in festive gear, and Sir George said he was only sorry he couldn't spend more time with them, but he had five other events to go in other villages in the constituency.

"Hurstbourne Tarrant know how to hold a good party, and today was no exception".
