The Anvil in Basingstoke hosted a Festival of Choirs, with the Basing Singers, the Basingstoke Choral Society, the Basingstoke Hospital Male Voice Choir, the Basingstoke Ladies Choir, the Basingstoke Male Voice Choir, the Hurst Singers, the Kingsclere Singers, the Overton Choral Society, the Steventon Singers and the Tadley Singers all joining the Hannington Silver Band for a concert of traditional music.

"Sitting in the middle of the Anvil, surrounded by all these choirs, one got a stereophonic reception of some high quality singing." Theresa Lunn sang Rule Britannia and Land of Hope and Glory, before being joined in the chorus by the audience who also sang Jerusalem.

Many congratulations to Marilyn and Paul Wright, who did most of the organisation, and also to the conductors.
