The Mayor or Test Valley, Cllr Dorothy Baverstock and Sir George Young cut the ribbon on the newly refurbished Currys and PC World store in Andover.
“Kelvin Fradley, the manager of Currys in Andover and his team have done a first class job in brightening up the store and introducing a range of new products. There is now a much wider choice across all departments, with 625 new products across the store compared with the previous store. I was also pleased to hear that they have recruited 9 new members of staff, and are looking for a further 2 or 3. All of these are either recent school leavers, or, until recently, out of work. The new store contains the very latest in ranges from Apple to Sony to Dyson, as well as their own brands.”
Inside the store was a dress knitted from 500 meters of cable. This was designed by Craig Lawrence, who designs dresses for Lady Gaga, amongst other celebrities. “This was a great example of fusing technology with fashion”
