A range of Coffee Mornings took place on Friday 28th September, raising funds for Macmillan Cancer Support. Sir George started off at Farleigh School, where the coffee morning was combined by a Christmas Market, well supported by school parents and local residents. "Dina de Angelo did a great job in arranging all the stalls, and encouraging people to come and support the morning. There were some new attractions, and a different layout to provide more space for sales. Sir George met the Headmaster of Farleigh, Father Simon Eversen, over a cup of coffee. It was good to see all the building work taking place on the site, as the school invests and expands. We are very fortunate to have this excellent academic resource in the constituency."
Later on in the morning, Sir George looked in on Barclays Bank in the High Street, where every pound donated would be matched by the bank. "It was good of the staff to give up their time to sell cakes, coffee and raise funds for Macmillan. I look forward to going back to the bank in November, to formally open the refurbished branch."
