Linda Peters and the Management Committee of Monxton and Amport invited guests to the official opening of the new facilities for disabled use at Monxton Village Hall, shared with Amport.

There is a new ramp and WC, some of which was funded through local grants and the remainder by holding a few very well attended jazz and dinner evenings. Hampshire County Council gave a grant of £3,500 and Test Valley gave £2,200.

One of the elderly residents, Mrs Carol Ryle, a wheelchair user, cut the tape at a well attended evening.

County Cllr Pat West and TVBC Cllr Ben Few Brown attended the opening.
