Andover Riding for the Disabled Association celebrated its 40 years in the presence of HRH The Princess Royal with an exhibition of riding at Harroway House in Penton Mewsey. the Princess Royal was met by Mark Maclay, one of the counties Deputy Lieutenants, and Elizabeth Maclay, Chairman of Andover RDA. HRH was introduced to the Mayor of Test Valley, Sir George Young, Mrs Lucinda Sims, owner of Harroway House, Mrs Judi Singer, Deputy Chairman of RDA. There was then a riding display with riders from four of the RDA groups, and children from three of the special schools. HRH gave rosettes to the adult riders and met the group leaders, instructors, parents and helpers, and received a posy.

"Despite the torrential rain just before HRH arrived, this was a marvellous event, which we all thoroughly enjoyed. It was a real pleasure for the children to display their skills in front of the princess, and it is an event they will remember for the rest of their lives."
