Wendy Davies invited Sir George to look in on Studio 1 at The Lights, where Andover Trees United were making flags. The flags, depicting trees and flowers, will be carried in procession from Enham Alamein to the new woodland site in Augusta Park, following the planting of the first trees by HRH Princess Anne a fortnight ago.

"I was very impressed at the number of people designing flags and painting them, and the designs will be transferred onto silk and carried as flags on November 26." Over the past few weeks, Alex Grant, of Toozalii Community Arts has been round some of the schools in Andover, helping the children design the flags. Studio 1 was described by Wendy Davies as an inter-generational flag making activity, and Sir George lent a hand with one or two of the flags. "Wendy Davies and the organisations who were at The Lights on Saturday have generated tremendous enthusiasm on the part of young people in trees and wildlife, and I know that the event on November 26th will be well supported." After the procession on November 26th, there will be a day of tree planting and celebration.
