Woolton Hill celebrated three years of village market with a presentation to Theresa Munn, one of its co-founders who is standing down. Sir George presented her with some flowers and some tokens, and thanked her for all her hard work in developing the village market into such a success. "About six years ago there was a meeting on the village plan, and out of this grew the idea of a village market at the village hall and the idea of an East Woodhay Society. The monthly market has really taken off, and I regularly come up from Andover to buy some of the high quality produce at the market, most of which is grown or produced very locally. Not only is the market very effective, but they have added on to the market a children's corner and a cafe, and it is a place where many people in the village go every month for a chat, as well as to stock up with local produce." Before the formal ceremony, the handbell ringers gave a chime to call for silence, and Sir George was assisted in the presentation by John Angle, one of the other motivators behind the market, the Leader of Basingstoke and Deane District Council, Clive Sanders, and the local Rector, Christine Dale.
