Sir George pays Christmas visit to Andover Delivery Office
16 Dec 2012
Following a tradition he has adopted since he became Member of Parliament in 1997, Sir George visited the Andover Delivery Office at 7.30am on December 7th. "I really enjoyed meeting the postmen who deliver the letters to my office in Andover, and to my home in Penton Mewsey. I was able to say thank you for all the hard work they do throughout the year, and get an insight into some of the challenges that confront them, as they operate within the new running costs set by Royal Mail."

"Over the past 12 months, I have had very few complaints about the quality of the postal service in the constituency, and many people who have told me how much they welcome the service that they get from the local postmen and women. They told me of their plans to get as much mail as possible delivered before the Christmas holiday, and of course they are having to cope with an increased number of packets, as more and more people do their Christmas shopping on the internet."
