The London Premier of The House of Cards was shown at the Odeon Leicester Square, and the event was introduced by Lord Dobbs. As Michael Dobbs, he wrote the original political drama based in Westminster, and the story has been rewritten for an American audience, with a similar plot taking place in the United States. The original Chief Whip, Francis Urquhart, becomes Francis Underwood and is played by Kevin Spacey. "I really enjoyed watching these first two episodes, and it is brilliantly directed and acted." It was a pleasure afterwards to meet Kevin Spacey and discuss how the original book has been adapted for an American audience.
