A rare treat for Andover is available at Chapel Arts, in the grounds of St Mary's Church.
Gold Run: Remix is an installation inspired by Gold Run and the history of the Paralympic Games by Outside In artist James Lake, which he produced over a week’s residency in Dilston Grove, Southwark Park, London. James Lake has been mentored through the project by Turner Prize nominated sculptor, Richard Wilson, and the Director of CGP London, Ron Henocq. Gold Run: Remix combines James Lake’s stunning cardboard sculpture of a runner getting ready for the impossible race with the sounds of anticipation and the courage it takes to win.

"I enjoyed meeting James, and hearing about the work he does in schools, teaching children with learning disabilities how to create works of art. James works in cardboard, so the raw material is readily available. His athlete portrays strength and ambition, and was inspried by the challenges which faced paralympic athletes in the London Olympics."

James hopes to combine his work with schools with getting some commissions. He is currently working on a 14 foot cardboard giraffe.

"All credit to David Dixon, the resident artist at Chapel Arts, for putting on this exhibition."
