The Shipton Bellinger fete was opened by Colonel Paddy Tabor, who had recently retired as the Garrison Commander at nearby Tidworth. In addition to the normal attractions at the fete, there was a craft fair in the village centre main hall, and a farrier demonstration. Castledown Radio provided music and loudspeaker equipment, and the Middle Wallop Army Cadet force helped manage the event.

Last year some £1200 was raised for local charities, and this year they hoped to do even better.
