People living in Woolton Hill contributed to a cookbook, which was launched at Woolton Hill Village Hall on Sunday. Costing £6, it contained a range of popular recipes contributed to by local people, including a recipe for profiterole by the local MP Sir George Young. "It was a great pleasure to come along to Woolton Hill and help launch this book - they raised over £700 in sponsorship before a copy was sold, and they hope to raise thousands of pounds for the Living Stones Appeal which is raising funds to improve the village hall and maintain the local church." At the launch of the book, Sharon Perris presented her painting "Busy at Woolton Hill Village Market" which she has gived to the hall and which was used to illustrate the front and back covers of the cookbook. Nick Harcourt received this as Chairman of the Woolton Hill Church Hall Committee. Sir George is a patron of the appeal, and thanks Angela Maxwell for all the work she had put into the book, along with John Priest and Yvonne and Simon Sonsino for the time and expertise which they had given.
