The Whitchurch Country Show was held at the Silk Mill, with a wide range of entertainment provided.

“I very much enjoyed meeting Tweed, John Macmillan’s hawk, and the bee keeping demonstration organised by the Basingstoke Beekeepers. I declined the generous offer of a pint of a beer sponsored by the Monster Raving Loony Party, not least because it was only half past ten in the morning, but it was good to see the Long Dog Brewery having a stall”.

Other attractions a miniature boat regatta, Weavers, Spinners and Dyers, together with story telling and craft stalls.
