Sir George visited the Kingsclere photo club exhibition at the Cillage Club in George Street in Kingsclere, and was shown round by the club's treasurer, Gareth Martin. "The photographs were the highest quality, and some of them were very dramatic. Visitors were invited to vote for the best photo, and I found myself as the traditional floating voter, as I went round. It is good to see the club flourishing, with a wide range of members of all ages." Afterwards, Sir George looked in at the Kingsclere Art Exhibition at St Mary's Church. Proceeds from the exhibition are going towards the friends of St Mary's. "I enjoyed meeting Brian and Carole Green, both of whom have exhibited. Again, I was impressed by the local talent in the village, and commend both organisations on raising the profile of art locally."
