Sir George formally opened Andover's Photographic Exhibition 2014 at the Andover Museum - which runs from February 8th to March 22nd. Admission is free.

"I was delighted that this exhibition has been restored; it used to take place in the Library, but hasn't been held for a year or so. This is is a marvellous exhibition of photography, some of it in black and white, and some of it using conventional film rather than digital".

As a former Transport Secretary, Sir George was impressed by the photograph of a steam engine, and he also enjoyed the photograph of the owl taken at the nearby Hawk Conservancy.

"I was glad to hear that the Society is in good form, recruiting new members and organising a series of talks. Sir George was taken around the exhibition by the Club's secretary, John Randall, who explained that the exhibition covered all aspects of different skills from beginners to advanced photographers, showing how a photograph can capture a moment in time which in turn evokes special memories".
