Last year, Sir George went to Roman Way School in Andover to listen to the pupils there tell some one liners. "Together with a small panel of judges, we chose William Ma, and he went forward to the next round in this National Joke Telling competition. William, aged 6, went to the Speakers House in parliament to take part in the final of the National Joke Telling competition."

The competition, known as Voicebox, was sponsored by the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists, and the Communication Trust. The aim of the competition was to raise awareness of the importance of communication, and commedian Lee Mack sat on the judging panel together with the winner of the 2012 Voicebox Competition in Northern Ireland. "The object of this competition is to remind people how important communication is, and that some children need help to develop their communication ability."
