Once again, Ladbrokes have contacted local Members of Parliament, and offered them the opportunity to bet around £50 on the Grand National, so long as any winnings go to local charities. "I asked the three ladies who work in my office to choose the horses, and we all agreed that any winnings should go to Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance."

While Sir George was at Ladbrokes, he was told of the measures that were in place to stop customers betting excessively, and saw for himself the FOBT machines, which have been the subject of recent debate in the House of Commons.
