Rob and Mary Childs hosted the annual tennis tournament at St Mary Bourne for the Winchcombe Cup.

The tournament was started in the 1990s by Philip Winchcombe, and the organisation was handed over to Rob and Mary Childs in 2010, when the Winchcombe Cup was first presented. This year 64 people entered to play and the winners were David Whittaker and Camilla Woodhouse, both from the village. The event raised £680 for the upkeep of St Peter's Church in the village.

"As always, there was a very high standard of tennis in the finals, and it was generous of those in and around the village with tennis courts to make the courts available for the preliminary rounds. Some 80 people watched the final on a fine Sunday evening".
