Sir George formally opened a Carers Pamper Day at the Masonic Hall in Andover. Opening it with Kerry Hearsey, Kerry said "Carers are one of the unsung heroes of our community. This week is in recognition of celebration of the contribution to society". Sir George paid tribute to the work of the Princess Royal Trust for Carers in Hampshire, and the regular events they hold in order to support carers. "The Carers Rights Act has just reached the Statute Book, entitling carers to an assessment when it comes to the support which they need. We are enormously fortunate to have Kerry and her team working in and around Andover, to support local carers".
