On June 23rd, Manuela Wahnon received the UK Points of Light Award from the Prime Minister - See letter attached. "I was thrilled that Manuela has got this award, and she has earned it by her campaigning work to drive up the quality of life in and around Andover by picking up litter herself and, as important, encouraging others to do the same." Sir George met Manuela at the Star and Garter, and formally handed over the award on behalf of the Prime Minister.
After handing over the award, Manuela told Sir George that she planned to pick up her last piece of litter in the relatively near future, and then move on to campaigning on behalf of her "Attitude of Gratitude" in and around the town. She has given apropriate plaques to a number of organisations, including Norman Gate School.
"Manuela has become one of the best known personalities in the town, and I am really proud of what she has achieved through her own energy and commitment."
