A Service of Commemoration on the 100th anniversary of the outbreak of World War 1 was held in the grounds of Andover Hospital. The service was conducted by the Rev Canon Mrs Jill Bentall, and there were readings from the Lord Lieutenant of Hampshire Dame Mary Fagan, the local MP Sir George Young and the Mayor of Test Valley, Cllr Jan Lovell. Also present was the Chief Executive of the Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. After the service, Dame Mary planted a cherry tree in the grounds, and then Lady Young cut the cake.
"It was very good of Susan Turner to organise the service, which coincided with an exhibition of the history of the hospital prepared by Erica Tinsley of the Andover History Society".
