Four groups of about 8 16-18 year olds came to Andover College, to bid for funds for their projects. The Dragons included the local MP, Sir George Young, local councillor Tony Ward, local solicitor Chris Ball, and Kevin Paterson, Chief Executive of Thames Valley Leisure.

"The groups were supporting Andover Mind and Andover Mencap, and were raising funds in a number of ways. They were holding car boot sales, cake days, running fetes, and helping to redesign a garden. I was very impressed with the way they worked together as a team, and also by the generosity of local firms such as Wickes, who had kindly given materials for some of the projects".

Each group was awarded £50 to help them raise more money for their chosen project.

Sir George thanked all the local businesses who supported the students with their social action projects by offering raffle prizes, materials for the gardening project, paints for the Mencap chillout room etc.

The following companies all assisted the students with their projects:

Home base Tony and Damion – contribution of materials towards the Crisis Centre garden project and the Mencap garden project.

Game – Donation of raffle prizes for the 3 Smiles Funday raffle.
