The annual Ride and Stride, raising funds for the Historic Churches of Hampshire and the Isle of Wight, took place on Saturday, with visitors seeing how many churches they could visit in a day, to raise funds for local churches.

“This year, Aurelia and I only made four, but we were very impressed by some of the riders, like Susan Turner, who visited about sixteen, covering 60 miles in a day”.
Lady Appleby (in the middle of the picture in a yellow tshirt) came to St Peter’s in the Wood in Appleshaw to thank those taking part.

“This is the twelfth Ride and Stride I have done for local churches, and one of the attractions in the benefice in which I live is the Tangley Café, generously hosted by Eleo Carson, which provides a welcome pit-stop for cyclists, particularly when they have reached the top of the hill in Tangley”.
