Medical Technology Group visits Parliament

The Medical Technology Group was established last year and consists of patients, doctors and patients' groups who have an interest in expanding the availability of innovative healthcare technologies.
The Group is committed to promoting patient access to pacemakers, defibrillators, orthopaedic technologies and cancer treament.
Sir George talks to Mark Wendruff who has had a fibrillator implanted, similar to the one held by Sir George. "The defibrillator makes sure that his heart beats regularly, and intervenes when it doesn't. It has already saved his life."
"I was impressed by the advances made in technology, which can save time and money, and ensure early and effective intervention."
