Sir George visited Andover Nursing Home to discuss recent changes in legislation and meet some of the residents.
He met the owner, John Puddepha - right - with Care Manager Dora Gurnett - standing at the back - and two residents.
"This is a high quality home, with a waiting list. I was impressed by the amount of activity taking place and the degree of choice given to residents."
Sir George discussed the changes due later in the year, when health care in nursing homes will no longer have to be paid for; legislation covering standards in homes; and the pressure on Hampshire County Council's Social Services Budget.
