Sir George spent the afternoon with Cllr Pat West on the King Arthur's Way Estate, Andover talking to residents, visiting shops and meeting young people.
"This is by no means a difficult estate by London standards, but the quality of life could be improved. There are some problems of housing management. This handsome growth is not someones hanging basket, but the product of blocked guttering. The lighting on the estate is not good, and security could be improved by the installation of CCTV. There is a drugs problem, which the authorities know about and are trying to tackle."
Sir George and Cllr Pat West will be pursuing an agenda of improvement with the relevant authorities.
