Sir George is taking up with the NHS the long periods that disabled people are expected to wait before they get the wheelchairs and other aids and appliances that they need.
"We keep on reading of the record amount of money the NHS has got; but then my disabled constituents are told that appliances that are essential for their quality of life cannot be bought because of budgetary constraints. And people are asked to wait for four months before they can ask about progress. (See letter)
I am in touch with the Winchester and Eastleigh Trust about this, and will make strong representations to Ministers if cash shortages are indeed behind this."
